What it does
The two acids do different jobs, which is why combining them covers more ground than either alone. Salicylic acid is oil-soluble and gets into the pore, so it works on congestion. Glycolic acid is water-soluble and works at the surface, on dullness and rough texture. At 2% and 10% respectively these are working concentrations rather than token ones.
The practical case for pads over a bottle is the back and shoulders — areas most people can't reach with a cotton pad and won't bother treating with a serum. A pad on a handle-length reach makes it a two-minute job rather than an ordeal.
How to use
On clean, dry skin, sweep one pad over the area and let it dry before applying anything else. Start two or three times a week and build up as tolerated. Don't use on the same night as retinol or another acid.
Wear SPF on any exposed area you've treated — shoulders and chest included, and especially in summer, when this is the product people reach for before a strappy top.

Persistent, painful or cystic spots need a GP rather than a stronger pad. Body acne in particular is often treated far more effectively with prescription options, and the earlier it's seen the less scarring there is.
