What it does
Cleanser is the step people spend least on and the one that does most damage when it's wrong. A cleanser that leaves skin squeaking has taken the barrier with it, and everything applied afterwards has to work harder on skin that's been compromised. This is deliberately unexciting: it removes makeup, sunscreen and the day's build-up, rinses clean, and leaves skin comfortable rather than tight. Suitable for morning and evening, and for use alongside the more active products in the range without adding to their load.
How to use
Massage a small amount over damp skin, then rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry. Morning and evening. In the evening, if you've worn heavy makeup or a high-SPF sunscreen, cleanse twice — the first pass removes the product, the second cleans the skin.
Who it is for
For all skin types, including sensitive. Particularly worth having if the rest of your routine includes retinol or acids, since it won't add to the irritation. Patch-test before first use.
