What it does
Glycolic acid is the smallest of the alpha hydroxy acids, which is why it works where gentler acids don't — the small molecule gets through the surface layer readily and loosens the dead cells that make skin look dull and feel rough. At 10% it's a working concentration rather than a token one, but well below the professional-strength formulas that need supervision.
The pad format solves the practical problem with acid toners: you get the same amount every time, with nothing to tip or soak. Vitamins C and E, calendula and green tea sit alongside. There's a mint and eucalyptus scent, which is noticeable — worth knowing if you dislike scented skincare. Made in the USA, cruelty-free and silicone-free.
How to use
On clean, dry skin in the evening, sweep one pad over the face avoiding the eye area, and let it dry fully before applying anything else. Start two or three nights a week and build up — daily use from the start is the usual cause of stinging and flaking. A brief tacky or tight feeling as it dries is normal and passes.
Don't use it on the same night as retinol, vitamin C or another acid, and wear broad-spectrum SPF every morning — glycolic acid measurably increases sun sensitivity, and that continues for about a week after you stop.
