A fragrance-free cream with 10% panthenol, centella and madecassoside. 80ml, vegan.

What it does

Panthenol is provitamin B5, and it's one of the least controversial ingredients in skincare — a humectant that holds water and helps skin feel comfortable, used in everything from nappy cream to aftercare because it works and almost nobody reacts to it. At 10% this is a high concentration rather than a trace.

Alongside it sit centella asiatica and madecassoside, the calming ingredients Korean skincare is built around, used on skin that reddens easily or has been overdone. The formula leaves out fragrance, parabens and artificial colourants — the three most common triggers — which is the point of a product aimed at reactive skin. Skin looks calmer and feels comfortable rather than tight.

How to use

As the last step of your routine, apply to face and neck. Morning and evening, or more often on skin that's reacting. If your skin is irritated, pause your actives for a few days — a calming cream can only do so much alongside a retinol.

For sensitive, reddened or easily irritated skin, and skin recovering from over-exfoliation. If your skin is persistently sore, weeping or broken, that's a matter for a GP rather than a cream. Patch-test before first use.
