What it is
Biotin is the vitamin most associated with hair, and it carries one of the few authorised claims in this area: biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair. Propidren combines it with a group of botanicals that have long histories in traditional preparations for hair and scalp — saw palmetto, stinging nettle, horsetail, fo-ti, pygeum bark and green tea. It's made in the USA in a GMP-certified facility, at two capsules a day for a month per bottle. There is a matching shampoo in the range if you want to use both.
How to use
Take two capsules daily with food. Take it consistently over months rather than weeks — hair grows roughly a centimetre a month, so nothing about hair responds quickly. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

High-dose biotin can interfere with blood tests. It is known to distort thyroid function and cardiac troponin results, which has led to people being misdiagnosed. Tell your doctor you are taking this before any blood test, and stop taking it a few days beforehand if they advise it.
Speak to your GP or pharmacist before starting if you take any prescribed medication, particularly hormonal treatments, blood thinners or anything for the prostate — saw palmetto and pygeum both interact with these.
Sudden, patchy or rapid hair loss deserves a GP appointment rather than a supplement. It can be a sign of thyroid problems, iron deficiency, or other conditions worth identifying and treating properly. Not suitable for children.
