What it does
The Japanese "all-in-one" is a genuinely different idea from the Korean multi-step routine: one pot instead of five bottles, on the reasoning that a routine you actually complete beats a routine you abandon by Wednesday. This gel is DHC's version, and it does five jobs — toner, gel, cream, makeup base and overnight mask. Astaxanthin is the ingredient it's built around, a red carotenoid from microalgae that gives the gel its colour and works as an antioxidant against the free radical damage caused by pollution and daily exposure. Alongside it sit hydrolysed collagen and a hyaluronic acid derivative for moisture, plus royal jelly. The texture is light and absorbs quickly, and the formula is fragrance-free and colourant-free, so it suits skin that reacts to most things.
How to use
After cleansing and any lotion step, take an appropriate amount and smooth evenly over the face. Use it as your whole moisturising step morning and evening, as a base before makeup, or in a thicker layer as an overnight mask when skin needs more. Follow with SPF in the morning.
