Freeze-dried grass-fed beef liver in capsule form — the nose-to-tail tradition without cooking or eating liver.
What it is
Liver was the most prized part of the animal for most of human history, and it fell out of the diet in a single generation largely because of taste and preparation rather than nutrition. Ancestral Supplements freeze-dries it instead: whole-food liver from grass-fed, pasture-raised New Zealand cattle, with no concentration, standardisation or synthetic additions. Freeze-drying preserves the tissue's natural composition, and the capsules contain nothing else — no stearates, binders, fillers or flow agents. Beef liver is naturally rich in vitamin B12, which contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and in iron, which contributes to normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin.
How to use
Take the daily amount stated on the label, with or without food. 180 capsules per bottle. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Who it is for
For adults drawn to whole-food, ancestral nutrition who want liver without preparing it. Not suitable if you are pregnant or trying to conceive. Liver is very high in preformed vitamin A, and NHS guidance is to avoid liver and liver products in pregnancy because too much vitamin A can harm an unborn baby. Not suitable for children, or for vegetarians and vegans. Contains beef and gelatin. Speak to your GP or pharmacist first if you take prescribed medication, have haemochromatosis or any other iron-storage condition, or already take a vitamin A or multivitamin supplement — the amounts add up.
